Competition Rules:
The “Handbook” enclosed will be used for swimming competitions, and the competition regulations of the related federations will be used for rowing and canoe competitions.

Conditions of Registration:
Competition Registration
Anyone who meets the necessary age, health and swimming requirements may participate at the 2012 Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Competition. Initial applications must be completed from Monday January 09, 2012 through to Friday April 20, 2012 and can be found at www.bogazici.cc The original application and other “Required Documents” must be posted to the National Olympic Committee of Turkey (NOCT), along with a 60 Turkish Liras or 30 Euro or 40 USD registration fee per person paid no later than May 04, 2012 Friday, 17:00. Please note, postal delays will not be taken into account.
Registration fees will not be reimbursed.
1- First-time applicants:
First-time individual applicants must participate in one of the trials listed in the table below and pass health and swimming ability tests. The candidates’ swimsuits, swim cap, slippers and towel should be available at the test. Candidates should indicate which city they are registering for in their Internet application.

The final list of eligible candidates will be posted at www.bogazici.cc,on May 25, 2012. CANDIDATE SWIMMERS must be present with their swimming gear at the above listed facilities, on the corresponding dates. Candidates will be eligible for the try-outs after a final medical checkup conducted by doctors assigned by the Local Health Authority.
2- Those Who Have Subscribed To the Competition in the Last 5 Years:
Those who have subscribed to and finished the Swimming Competition between the Years 2006-2011;Entrants in this category may register after completing all documents specified in the section “Documents Required” and have undergone a checkup in the most appropriate institution stated above.
Those who have registered for the swimming competition of 2011 but did not participate;
Entrants in this category may not enter in 2012.
3- Certified Swimmers (club and individual)
“Documents Required”
Web registration form, filled, printed and required areas signed, 1 suitable photograph (passport photographs), Photocopy of ID card (photocopy of passport for foreigners), For certified swimmers, photocopy of valid certificate with 2012 visa , Notarized parental warrant for swimmers under the age of 18.
The final list of approved swimmers to participate at the Bosphorus Cross-Continental 2012 will be posted online on Friday, June 29, 2012.
Gathering Point and Time of the Competition:
Participants must gather at Kuruçeşme Cemil Tomuzlu park dock by 08:00 o’clock on the day of competition. The registration process will be completed on tables arranged according to the registration number, “Sportsman/Sportswoman certificates” will be checked and participants will board the ship. The start will be from Kanlıca Cityline Ferry Dock at 10:00 o’clock. The swimming period is limited to 2 hours maximum.
