HISTORY

This event, which was held for the first time by TMOK in 1989 with the participation of 4 female and 64 male athletes, is met with a constantly increasing amount of interest every year and repeated under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee, in accordance with the slogan, “Sports for Everyone”.Due to the fact that it is established on the continents of both Europe and Asia and that the Bosphorus strait goes right through it, Istanbul offers a natural environment for holding this swimming competition as a social sport.

PHOTO CONTEST

The Turkish National Olympic Committee (TNOC), Bosporus Commission is organizing a photo contest with the subject “BOSPORUS INTERCONTINENTAL-2012” in order to support Turkish Photographic Art and to promote the Asia to Europe International Swimming Race, being held for the 24rd time on July 15, 2012, to the next generation and show the efforts of the athletes in the best light.
